Sure, this is a funny picture. That is my son Johnny, pinching my sisters boyfriend’s nose, haha! Johnny is special needs and often does silly things like this. He loves everyone, hence him sitting on Bryan’s lap. This convinces me that I will find a partner who can embrace my son the same way Bryan does. I won’t settle for a man that simply “tolerates” Johnny. I want a partner that accepts, interacts and embraces Johnny. I have to believe that there is someone out there for us π
You can and will find that! After my divorce, with three children and one with special needs I thought I will live the rest of my days as a single mother. Then a man, who began as a friend came into my life and he has not just ‘tolerated’ my son, but cherished him. He speaks softly, and sits down just to hear him say his name over and over and over.He understands that the constant rubbing of his arm isn’t meant to annoy him, but a clear sign of affection that most do not get. You are a wonderful mother! Do not ever give up hope… There are men out here that have hearts as big as our children. If you ever need an ear… I am here! Best wishes!
Hi Nici,
Thanks for the message! It’s nice to know that I’m not alone out here! I agree, I just know there is someone for me (and Johnny). I have been divorced for 11 years. I have had a couple of boyfriends, but those men really were just not worth my time. Jonathan is an angel and deserves to have the best people in his life. I’m happy that you have a wonderful man in your life π
You and Jonathan deserve exactly what you yearn for, Audrey. Keep your heart and eyes open. There are good men looking for beautiful and intelligent women with special children. Your sister found Bryan. Your turn will come.
Thanks, Mark. Quality not quantity, is how I see relationships π I have a wonderful, full, fun and fulfilling life. I’m very lucky. π
You have a wise approach for you and your special son, my friend.
That type of man is worth waiting for. God bless you both.
