Before & After

Yuck! I hated the set up of my closet. It hasn’t been working for me for years, but finally I decided to spend the weekend re-doing it.

Ugly!

Wow! I doubled the space in the closet! Painting the inside of the closet makes me feel clean! Although you can’t see the paint job, I know it’s nice and pretty behind all of my clothes πŸ™‚

We had to pull everything out of the closet-everything.

Lots of time, but only cost about $50.00 The paint ate up most of that budget. A couple shelving supports and an additional dowel.

I don’t have a “honey-do” list, but I do have a “daddy-do” list, haha! My dad is always so eager to help me with my crazy projects that I have going on!

Total time spent, about 10 hours.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Hand made cake pop in the first picture. Made by one of the parents at my school. She makes the most amazing cake pops, just for fun πŸ™‚
The floral creation in the middle was made by another parent, and friend. She said it’s a Martha Stuart recipe, amazing! (apple pie)
The cupcakes were made by a local bakery.
Have a beautiful and lovely day!

Would you care for a glass of………..lights?

A very talented friend of mine made this wonderful piece of art as a gift for me.

Using an ordinary wine bottle, you drill a small whole in the backside. Then feed the lights into the bottle, leaving the plug on the outside of the bottle.

Plug in, and viola!

Debbie used a multi colored string of lights in this bottle. In others she used white, yellow or blue. Every bottle is a unique creation. I have such great and talented friends πŸ™‚

Furniture with soul

I am addicted to restoring old pieces of furniture that I find. Each piece of furniture that I refurbish has a story to tell. This chair was full of horse hair and springs, dating back to somewhere around the 1930’s.

I found this beat up rocking chair sitting in the street, for free. For less than $40.00, I gave this old girl a lift, a tuck and a snip! I chose not to fix every nook and cranny because I want some of the wear and tear to show, some of it’s history. I had some left over fabric, so I made a quick pillow.
