Flying is one of my favorite things to do! I love the hustle & bustle of airports, the excitement of people going to see loved one’s or going on a trip of a lifetime. I love the sound of the suitcase wheels rolling against the ground.
This was just a quick trip to Anaheim for the week-end. It doesn’t matter how many times I have flown, I always love looking out the window and take pictures. As I was snapping away taking photo’s, I noticed a screw missing on the right engine, see picture above. Hmmmmm, interesting. Probably not an issue, but how do I know for sure? I’m sure the pilot and crew are not going to fly a plane that is mechanically compromised, right?
I know there is a check list of sorts between flights. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an employee do a walk-a-round the airplane for a quick look. I could be wrong. I hope I’m wrong. The area missing the screw is a panel, that moves backwards to slow down the plane upon landing. Kind of important. Obviously the flight was fine, the landing was fine as well, but that missing screw doesn’t didn’t sit right with me.
